Mario Bros.

Mario Bros. Birthday Cake
I have been wanting to create a Mario cake for sometime now.  I was thrilled when I surprisingly got this order 2 days before they needed it.  While they said that they wanted a Mario cake and it needed not be fancy, I knew it need be. Cakes are more fun when they are fancy.
The top tier is a chocolate cake- mushroom!
Here we have the man-eating plant.
Eat this piece and you will receive fire power!  At the bottom sits a red turtle shell.
The mushroom man will kill you but he is so cute!
There is so much expression in that tiny body.
This is the back of the cake.
 Mario himself made and appearance!

This was one of my favorite cakes to date.
I loved that my husband and I 'researched' the cake by playing Mario Wii.
I love that we worked on it together.
I love that it brought back many memories.
I love that it was totally unexpected by the customers.
I love when everything comes together.
I love when it is fun.

Guitar Cake

Party Like a Rock Star!

This is a cake for a little boy's 6th birthday party.  It is a white cake covered in buttercream.  (This is right- no fondant)  I RARELY do a buttercream cake but I really enjoyed it and think I will do some more.  Thanks Summer!

Animal Print Cake

Animal Print Cake

I must admit that from the time that I got the order in April until the time it was due in August I was terrified of this cake!
My client loved it!  Makes it all worth it.
This is a cake for a friend's 30th birthday celebration!
It is a 2 tiered fondant cake with giraffe and zebra prints.

Baby Shower Cake

Baby Shower Cake

This is a cake for a baby shower for a little girl.
I loved making this cake!  It is a white cake decorated in fondant.  I made the flowers, butterflies and dragonflies a couple of days early and let them dry where the wings and petals would be lifted up.

Superhero Cake

Last year I was exctied to be asked to make a caterpillar cake for Landon's 5th birthday party where the theme was Bugs!
Landon's Caterpillar Cake

This year they asked me to make his 6th birthday cake for his Superhero party!  It is a wonderful to get to follow him and make his cake each year.  I wonder what is in store for birthday #7!

Superhero Cake

Landon's cake was a 3 tiered cake covered and decorated in marshmallow fondant.  The symbols I drew freehanded and then cut out.  Batman and Superman's capes are made of fondant.
The top tier was a white cake that I dyed red to go with Spiderman.  The Batman tier was a yummy chocolate cake and the bottom tier was a white cake with red and blue funfetti for Superman.  It is so much fun to see have a little extra surprise for when they cut into the cake!

1 Year Olds Can Be Fancy Too!

Beautiful Jaydon turned one!  For her 1st birthday photo session she wanted this beautiful Damask SMASH cake.  It was a white cake but I tinted it pink which turned out super cute in the pictures.  It was covered in marshmallow fondant and she ate it all up!

This is the front of her cake.  The remaining sides of the cake are decorated in Damask.

Happy Birthday!

Pink Sock Monkey!

A sweet baby girl turned one and her party theme was Sock Monkeys.  This cake was the first cake where I created a figure out of fondant and it was a lot of fun!
The cake was white and chocolate flavor.  It was covered in marshmallow fondant and decorated with regular fondant.

It was her first birthday party so I got to make a matching SMASH cake.  The SMASH cake was a white cake covered in buttercream.
